Frequently Asked Questions

What are the Gatsby Benchmarks?
The Gatsby Benchmarks are a framework of eight guidelines that define excellent careers education and guidance. They cover areas like: stable careers programmes, learning from career and labour market information, addressing the needs of each pupil, linking curriculum learning to careers, encounters with employers and employees, experiences of workplaces, encounters with further and higher education, and personal guidance. Our workshops align with these standards to ensure quality careers provision.
What’s included in your workshops?
Each workshop includes interactive activities, student-led presentations, Q&A sessions, and take-away resources. We provide all materials and can adapt content to your specific curriculum needs and student demographics.
How much do workshops cost?
Our workshops are priced fairly to ensure sustainability while remaining accessible. Standard sessions are £150-300 depending on length and complexity. However, free sessions are available for schools with a high proportion of students in POLAR4 Quintiles 1 or 2, schools with high IDACI scores, schools where more than 25% of students receive Pupil Premium or Free School Meals, or schools in Priority Education Investment Areas. We’re also happy to discuss flexible pricing and can help with grant applications.
Do you deliver sessions in-person or online?
We primarily deliver sessions online, which allows us to reach schools across the country cost-effectively. However, we may be able to arrange in-person delivery depending on your location and the nature of the workshop. Please let us know your preference when you get in touch.
How long are your workshops?
Most workshops are designed to fit within a standard lesson period (45-60 minutes), but we can adapt timing to suit your timetable. Some programmes, like Personal Statement Clinics, work better as extended sessions or across multiple periods. We’re flexible and will work around your schedule.
What year groups do you work with?
We primarily work with students aged 14-18 (Years 9-13), focusing on post-16 and post-18 transitions. However, we can adapt content for younger students when appropriate, particularly for aspirational programmes or early careers education.
Who delivers your workshops?
Our workshops are delivered by current university students and recent graduates who have been trained in educational delivery. All our facilitators have excellent academic records, relevant subject expertise, and undergo enhanced DBS checks. Sessions are overseen by qualified teachers.
Can you customise workshops for our school?
Absolutely! We work closely with schools to understand their specific context, student demographics, and curriculum needs. We can adapt content, timing, and delivery methods to fit seamlessly into your existing provision and achieve your desired outcomes.
What support do you provide after workshops?
We provide follow-up resources, session summaries, and can arrange additional support where needed. For students requiring more intensive support, you can signpost to our tutoring programmes (either internally through the school, or our pay-what-you-can external offering) or arrange follow-up mentoring sessions with our student volunteers.
